Today, a guided walking tour of Cusco will start with a visit to the Sacsayhuman Fortress, the largest and most significant work left by the Incas. Then continue to the city’s historic heart, the Plaza de Armas. You will visit Koricancha, the Inca Temple of the Sun, once the most important temple in the Inca Empire. Though it was ruined in the 16th century, its stonework now forms the foundation of the Baroque Church and Convent of Santo Domingo. Through a stunning sky projection on the planetarium’s dome, you'll gain insight into the significance of stars in Andean culture and learn to identify Incan constellations in detail. Weather permitting, step outside to observe these formations through a telescope.
