We will also visit the 13th-century Palazzo Falson, the former home of Captain Olof Frederick Gollcher, an artist, soldier, collector and philanthropist. This afternoon, visit Villa Bologna, a stately Maltese home built in the opulent Baroque style. Explore its grand Mediterranean garden, which features centuries-old citrus orchards, magnificent fountains and sweeping lawns.
This morning, embark on a city sightseeing tour of Valletta to learn about the fascinating history of this small island. Walk through Valletta’s main city gate and along Republic Street, where you will admire the contrasting architecture of Malta’s modern parliamentary building and the Royal Opera House. Visit the Upper Barrakka Gardens with commanding views over the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities – Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua. Explore Muza Museum before finally visiting St Johns Co-Cathedral, where many knights and Grand Masters are buried. Here, we also view Caravaggio’s masterpiece, The Beheading of St. John The Baptist. After a private recital in the Oratory at St Johns Co-Cathedral, enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant this evening.
